Platform now has DNS Content Filtering and Wireless AP Mode Support to increase business cybersecurity

Blockbit, a Brazilian company specializing in the cybersecurity market, announces new features in its global cybersecurity platform, with new advanced features for identifying, mitigating and preventing threats.

The new version of the Blockbit Platform now has features such as DNS Content Filtering and Wireless AP Mode Support to maximize the digital protection of data and systems for companies of all sizes and segments, on local networks or in the Cloud.

Through DNS Content Filtering, companies have a tool that controls and filters access to certain Internet content, blocking malicious, dangerous, or inappropriate websites.

Filtering rules are pre-configured by customers on the platform, determining which websites employees connected to corporate networks cannot access, such as social media or betting portals, for example.

In this way, it is possible to reduce the risks associated with browsing the Internet to keep business data safe.

“Blockbit’s main goal is to increase the security of users and companies, mitigating threats from reaching network points. DNS content filtering helps protect businesses from increasingly common cyber threats such as malware, ransomware, and phishing,” says Lucas Pereira, Chief Product Officer at Blockbit.

According to the executive, DNS Content Filtering also enables more compliance with corporate access policies.

“This is especially important in industries with stringent regulatory requirements, such as healthcare and finance, where data leakage can mean the end of secrecy of sensitive and confidential customer and business information,” he says.

Another new feature of the Blockbit Platform is Wireless AP Mode Support, which makes it possible to install a Wi-Fi network without the need for an external router.

Only by using the Blockbit Platform’s hardware can companies receive the signal from the network (wired or wirelessly) to make it available to other devices.

“With Wireless AP Mode Support, Blockbit’s hardware creates a local wireless network (LAN), which will act as a central point to connect the company’s other wireless equipment with high speed and availability,” says the executive.

Blockbit Platform updates are constant to keep customers always in line with the latest in cybersecurity.

The new version of the platform also brings other important news. The Firewall and Web Filter settings, for example, have received performance optimization options.

It is worth remembering that the platform already has the Blockbit Cloud Sandbox, a new generation tool that analyzes all types of records and programs in an automated way, in search of suspicious or malicious points – even the newest ones.

Developed by the experts at Blockbit Labs, Blockbit’s high-performance lab, the feature combines concepts such as Big Data and Machine Learning (ML) to test and classify threats broadly, even before these agents reach users’ networks.

Such measures are important to keep up with the progressive sophistication of malware and to be able to detect it successfully, adding a layer of threat protection beyond the perimeter of the environment.

The platform also provides VPN AnyWhere / Anytime, a Next Generation VPN Client that strengthens the security of your virtual private networks.

The functionality allows users to access their secure networks from the connection of any type of protocol (TCP, UDP, ICMP and/or DNS), and always with support for different languages.

Through the Virtual Domain (VDOM) feature, the Blockbit Platform makes it possible to create one or more virtual firewalls, with separate configurations for routing and VPN services.

In this way, companies have continuous security, physical space and energy savings, improved transparent mode configuration, and more flexible Managed Security Services Providers (MSSP) configurations.

“It is also worth noting that Blockbit’s physical appliance can be divided into several virtual firewalls. Thus, it can be used in environments where hardware implementation is difficult or impossible, such as those based on Public and Private Cloud; software-defined networks (SDN) and software-defined wide area networks (SD-WAN),” says Pereira.
